Message from the Chapter President
Welcome
Guided by the motto, “Service for Humanity,” we are dedicated and committed to upholding the mission and vision of our great organization. Our chapter takes pride in giving back to our communities by providing disease prevention and health promotion activities and events throughout the Metro Atlanta area. For example, our chapter’s signature community event is our annual health fair that is held annually in underserved areas of Atlanta. During this event, participants are provided with health care education, services, and screenings that many of them do not have access to such as blood pressure and diabetes screenings, dental hygiene education and supplies, SIDS education, and HIV testing, just to name a few. Our chapter awards Nursing scholarships and research grants annually as a part of our Nurse Week celebration. We partner with several community organizations to provide volunteer nursing services and assistance during annual events, for example, the Sisters by Choice Pink Ribbon Walk, AIDS Walk Atlanta, Relay for Life, the annual Sickle Cell Walk/ Run, and Impact for Community Change Blood Drive Experience and Health Expo.
Gamma Chi Chapter participates with Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated® National Programs and Projects, Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Leadership Development, Programs for Youth and Young Adults, Programs for Seniors, and Community Health Outreach, Research Development, Scholarships, Recruitment and Retention. Additionally, we have local programs and projects such as Homeless Outreach, Sisterhood/Brotherhood activities, Kidney Sunday, American Heart Association, Red Dress Sunday, The Lydia Project, Back to School supplies events, Senior Centers and Beauty Salons for hypertension screening and education.
We are pleased that you visited our site and hope that you enjoyed learning about our organization. You may contact us for information about joining or visit the National website, www.chietaphi.org, to learn more about the organization’s history, mission, vision, programs and projects.
