
Dr. Coverson was an active member of Gamma Chi Chapter from 2005 to 2012. During that time, she inspired many of the members to advance their education and engage in research. Dr. Coverson completed her nursing PhD and a postdoctoral cardiology fellowship at Emory University. She was a Research Assistant Professor at the Cardiovascular Research Institute and Community Health and Preventative Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. Her research focused on cardiovascular risk assessment and risk reduction in African Americans.
The purpose of this grant is to honor Dr. Coverson’s spirit of scholarly inquiry by supporting graduate students whose academic activities embody the advancement of nursing.
